Westward is a one-of-a-kind whiskey from the craft distiller House Spirits, located in Portland, Oregon. The single malt is provenance-driven, made with local ingredients and aged in new American oak casks in Oregon’s hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. In addition to whiskey, the House Spirits Distillery produces gin, vodka, aquavit and liqueur. Westward Cask Strength 125 Proof is a cask strength edition of the distillery’s flagship brand. The single malt is distinct and full of flavor. On the nose, you’ll find bourbon-like aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, toasted almond and black pepper. The palate is creamy with more of a single malt character and heat from the proof. It has notes of orange peel, dark chocolate, sesame, tobacco leaf, white pepper and cinnamon. The finish is deep and warming with hints of honey and malt. With its malty sweetness and new charred oak maturation, Westward Whiskey is pushing the boundaries of what a single malt can be.
