After an absence of 20 years, the beloved Ardbeg 17 Years Old makes its masterful return! In 1997, this unusually delicate yet unmistakably Ardbeg single malt was one of the first bottles to leave the distillery after its reopening. When the expression retired in 2004, Ardbeggians thought that was the last they’d see it. But its revival has been years in the making. Dr Bill Lumsden has meticulously crafted this release to mirror the original. Ardbeg 17 Years Old The Legend Returns has been created as a tribute to the pioneers who were there in the beginning. This limited-edition release was made available exclusively for members of the Ardbeg Committee. The single malt aged for 17 years and is bottled at 40%, just as it was back then. Fresh pine resin, enticing aromas of malted barley and toasted bread perch on the palate. Delicate notes of cocoa powder and caffé latte soar alongside hints of oak smoke and chewy aniseed toffee. The peat returns for an enormously long finale.
